Our R&D Story

The foundation of a 15.000 m² production and integration facility to be established in Ankara Space and Aerospace Industrial Zone was laid out to meet the mass production requirements of the R&D products. R&D activities are continuing with a total of 16 large-scale projects, nine of which are equity supported and seven of which are carried out within the scope of TÜBİTAK Technology and Innovation Support Programs.

A clean room with ISO-6 standards and an echo-free room were set up to ensure basic RF tests could be performed to meet production and test needs in different projects.

R&D activities were completely moved to FAMAS Plaza when the number of researchers employed for R&D projects exceeded over fifty employees. On-site R&D Center approval was obtained from the Ministry of Industry and Technology pursuant to law no 5746.

When there were serious problems encountered in the production of R&D products designed with non-company resources, it was decided to incorporate R&D production capabilities into the company. To this end, a Prototype Manufacturing Workshop consisting of a 5-axis CNC machine and different conventional machinery was set up.

Profen, continuing to grow in its sector with its own resources, started in house R&D activities to design and produce satellite communications equipment, many of which it had to supply from abroad.

PROFEN (PROFessional ENgineering) was established by four young engineers who graduated from Boğaziçi University to provide «professional engineering products and services» to its customers.
